Geranium Maverick White

Geranium Maverick White is a heat-tolerant, upright annual geranium with large white flower heads that thrives in full sun to part shade. It is well-suited for containers, beds, and window boxes. White is a gleaming bright shade that stands out perfectly in the garden, particularly in late afternoon and early evening, when it appears to glow.

How to Sow and Plant
Place seeds in a moist paper towel to soften the shell for 34 hours or so, then plant in a cell tray or seed flat, covering seeds with 1/8″growing media. Soil 7-9 weeks or 9-11 weeks for seeding containers. Light is not required for germination. Water these well and cover with a propagation dome. Keep the soil surface moist. These will need a temp of 65f to 75f to germinate and should sprout in 7-10 days at 70-75 degrees F. Transplant (recommended) After germination, maintain an average temperature range of 60-75°F (16-24°C). Harden off and transplant outside after the danger of frost. Deadheading spent blooms greatly encourages plant growth.

How to Save Seeds:
Wait for the flowers to fade and a green seed pod to form, which will then mature to a dark brown color. Place the pods in a paper bag to allow them to dry completely and pop open, which collects the seeds inside. Store the fully dried seeds in a labeled envelope or bag in a cool, dark, and dry place, such as a refrigerator.
