The second swarm trap in Boone County…

At the first of the week, Linda worked out the arrangements with the property owner and decided the best day for everyone would Friday the 19th. Later in the week, we found out that our Grandson had the day off from school due to a teacher’s work day. We asked if he would like to come with us and he was more than willing.

We picked him up around 10:30 and made our way to the property. The drive itself, though long, was still great with good scenery. We met the property owner and she showed us around. She owns 80 beautiful acres.

She took us to see several locations that she had scouted out. They were all pretty good and the great thing is that we could drive up to all of them. When you are carrying a swarm trap full of angry bees with little daylight, this becomes very important.

We choose a spot that is close to a pond and is accessible from all sides. I got the strap ready and Linda and the Grandson held it up for me. it was about the easiest one yet.

This trap we was the one we used last year in the first Boone County location.
